Intellectual Property: Workshop delivered by Andrea Allocco as part of the UBB Student i-Lab incubation program (28.04.2026)

As part of the incubation program carried out by UBB Student i-Lab, Module 8 was dedicated to an essential topic for any early-stage entrepreneur: intellectual property. The main objective of this workshop was to familiarize participants with the importance of protecting their ideas and transforming them into sustainable competitive advantages within an increasingly dynamic and innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The session focused on best practice examples from the European business environment, highlighting how successful companies manage their intangible assets, such as patents, trademarks, and copyrights. At the same time, participants explored practical methods for protecting their own creations, from registering intellectual property rights to using legal agreements and confidentiality strategies.
The workshop was delivered by Andrea Allocco, CEO and Partner at Technology Reply, part of the Reply SpA group. He also serves as President of Confindustria Romania and is actively involved in various professional organizations, such as FPIAR. With extensive experience in launching and developing innovative companies, Andrea Allocco brings a pragmatic perspective on the relationship between technology, innovation, and business strategy.
Through his realistic and results-oriented approach, Andrea Allocco highlighted the importance of connecting seemingly disparate ideas and transforming them into viable market solutions. His expertise in entrepreneurship, technology, and strategic partnerships provided participants not only with theoretical knowledge but also with valuable insights drawn from practical experience, contributing to the development of strategic thinking regarding the protection and capitalization of intellectual property within their own entrepreneurial initiatives.
