Immigrant Entrepreneurship

Speaker: Ioana Marin

Ioana Marin will give a presentation on Immigrant Entrepreneurship, exploring the experiences, opportunities, and challenges faced by immigrants when starting and developing entrepreneurial activities in a new country.

Ioana Marin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philology (English and Italian), officially recognized in Spain within the field of Arts and Humanities, and is a certified sworn translator in both languages, with extensive expertise in cross-cultural communication. She also holds a Master’s degree in Social Economy, recognized in Spain within the Social and Behavioral Sciences. With over 16 years of professional experience, Ioana provides high-level technical and operational support to executive leadership teams and brings a versatile multidisciplinary background spanning EU-funded project management, public procurement, agile methodologies, GDPR compliance, HR operations, accounting, logistics, IT, data analysis, marketing, and public relations. Currently pursuing a PhD in Social Sciences at the University of Valencia, her research focuses on migration, mobility, and social change, with her doctoral dissertation examining the labor trajectories and economic integration of Romanian immigrant women in Spain and the factors shaping their socio-economic inclusion.
