NIBS International Business Simulation Competition 2026 – Turn Your Business Knowledge into Strategic Decisions!

Students of Babeș-Bolyai University have the opportunity to participate in the NIBS International Business Simulation Competition 2026, an international competition that allows them to test their business knowledge, develop their managerial skills, and compete against student teams from around the world.

Based on the ElectriCity business simulation developed by EcoSim, the competition challenges participants to take on the role of a top management team and manage a virtual company in the energy sector within a dynamic and competitive business environment.

What is it like to make decisions as a manager? Participants will have the opportunity to develop strategies and make decisions in key business areas, including business development, production, marketing, finance, and human resources. Their results will depend on their ability to analyze available information, anticipate market changes, and collaborate effectively to achieve shared goals.

The NIBS International Business Simulation Competition 2026 offers students the opportunity to:

Awards for Top-Performing Teams

The competition also offers prizes to the top-performing teams:

1st Place: €300 and an EcoSim voucher offering a 40% discount;

2nd Place: €200 and an EcoSim voucher offering a 30% discount;

3rd Place: €120 and an EcoSim voucher offering a 20% discount.

A special prize of €100 is also awarded for the best team introduction video. The winning teams’ prize packages also include a contribution to an NGO of their choice, amounting to 2% of the total participation fees, as well as a three-hour team-building activity.

Competition Schedule

The competition takes place entirely online, and students can participate in teams of 2–4 members.

20 October 2026 – Registration deadline;

21 October 2026 – Opening ceremony;

27 October – 8 November 2026 – Qualifying round;

12 November 2026 – Semifinal;

24 November 2026 – Final

The participation fee is €100 per team and must be covered by the participants. Babeș-Bolyai University does not guarantee funding for this fee.
